DEEP IN THE WOODS
(Some Kind of Nature)
“Trees smell good, feel good, sound good, and look good. And as if that weren’t enough, they point beyond themselves.” - Robert Adams
Carrying a large format camera on my shoulder, inspired by those who walked lands and cities before me and left photographs and/or stories behind, I wander. My anachronistic equipment attracts attention and people approach me. Some of them I had met before but most are new acquaintances. They come out from their backyards, as I pass, or they just wander, like I do. Some ask me questions, others tell me stories; some of them would like to be photographed. Here, I present their appearances.
And all along, while walking through these alleys, streets and paths, I’ve been reminded that here, once upon a time and long before photography, there were only woods and meadows.
